Choose which optional sections you see, Quotes, Orders and Inventory

Not every business sells the same things. A practice that only sells appointments does not need Quotes, Orders or Inventory in the sidebar. Section visibility lets you choose, for your whole company, which of those three optional sections you see.

• Quotes: custom quotes for made-to-order work.
• Orders: the orders that follow an approved quote.
• Inventory: the products you stock and sell.

Hidden means hidden, not deleted and not switched off. Your quotes, orders, products and stock stay exactly as they are, the link a client uses to review a quote keeps working, and turning a section back on brings everything back as it was.

The choice is free on every plan. It is never an add-on and never affects what you pay.

Which sections you see depends on when your company was created and the type chosen. A company that existed before this setting keeps all three sections shown. A new clinic shows Quotes for treatment plans and hides Orders; salons, tutors and other businesses start with Quotes and Orders hidden. Inventory starts shown for salons, projects and other businesses; a new clinic or tutoring business starts with it hidden, because they sell visits and classes rather than products, and the Choose what you sell step turns it on in one tap if you do sell products.

1. You need to be the owner of the company.
2. To hide Quotes, none of your quotes can be in draft or waiting for review. To hide Orders, every order must be delivered. If something is still open, Zelun refuses and tells you how many records are open. Finish or deliver them first.
3. Inventory can be hidden at any time, even with stock on hand.

Pick what you sell when you start

1. New companies see a Choose what you sell item in the Getting started checklist.
2. Pick one of three choices: only appointments, appointments and products, or appointments and custom work. Each sets all three sections at once. Only appointments hides all three, appointments and products shows Inventory, and appointments and custom work shows Quotes, Orders and Inventory.
3. The item shows as done the next time the checklist loads.

Change sections later

1. Open My business and find the sections setting.
2. Turn Quotes, Orders or Inventory on or off. Each has a short line saying what it is for. Or pick one of the three choices above.
3. If Zelun refuses because of open work, nothing changes. The message says which section and how many open records.

Open a hidden section by its link

1. If you open the address of a hidden section, for example from a bookmark, the page says that the section is turned off.
2. As the owner, you get a link to turn it on.

• A client who has a quote link can still review the quote after you hide Quotes. The link keeps working.
• This setting changes what you and your team see. It is not a setting for your clients.

• The hidden section disappears from the sidebar for you and for your team.
• Hiding Inventory also removes the retail product picker from the checkout of an appointment, and the Inventory block from Reports. Existing products and stock are untouched.
• Hiding Orders also removes the My jobs tab from the staff mobile app. The other four tabs stay.

• Expecting hidden to delete. Nothing is deleted or switched off. Show the section again and it is all there.
• Hiding Inventory and wondering why products vanished from checkout. That is part of hiding it. Turn Inventory back on to sell products again.
• Trying to hide Orders with undelivered work. Deliver or finish the open orders first. The same goes for quotes in draft or waiting for review.
• Thinking it is a paid add-on. It is free on every plan.
• Expecting it to hide appointments, Staff, Clients, Expenses or Reports. Only Quotes, Orders and Inventory can be hidden.
• Starting values by type. A salon starts with Quotes and Orders hidden; a clinic shows Quotes (as Treatment plans) and hides Orders; tutor and other hide both. Showing or hiding a section never changes your bill.
